My grandson Xander Reynolds has brain Cancer.
He is 6 years old and has had the illness for 3+
years.  The doctor's say there is no chance for
survival and it is a miracle that he is still alive. The
miracle in my opinion is the horses of eqdhsd,
since he started the theaputic horse back riding in
September of 2010 his tumor has been stable.  The
difference in Xander after a day with the horses is
nothing short of amazing.  He has a 180% turn
around on bad days.  I fully believe that the horses
are god's miracle working with Xander.  I look
forward to many more years with Xander thanks to
the horses.  Kim Wohlford
Horseback riding has helped my
son Andrew so much with his
Cerebral Palsy. Andrew would walk
2-3 steps and almost fall. Now he
can walk straight and run. It has
helped him build muscle tone
where he needed it. Riding Fred
has helped with balance and self
confidence.  I have also seen many
other miracles occur between
horse and rider. I have seen
people that could not sit up be
able to sit up and stroke victims be
able to walk again.  Fred is also my
sons' best friend and companion.  I
could go on and on but you will
have to come out and see for your
self.  Hope to see you soon.

Oh what horse back riding
has done for me

Riding a horse is a real blessing. It
has impacted my healing process
tremendously. It gives me the
motion of walking when I can,t walk
by emulating the same kind of
motion . It gives me very good
exercise while helping me return
to physical condition after  I have
suffered two strokes?
It has built my self confidence up
so I continue to press forward
when there seems to be no light at
end of tunnel. The camaraderie
with the students is nice also. It
has been great fun even if I do it
for rehabilitative purposes. I will
continue to ride forever as long as
God enables me to do so.

Joe and Regis after EqD Class
My daughter, Tia is 18 & has Autism.  Tia has been taking
riding lessons from EQDHSD for over a year and has
benefited greatly with this organization.  Kim Hoffman
has been so supportive of Tia, always giving more than
required.  Tia's coordination has greatly improved as
well as her speech and self esteem.  Tia loves Kim and
the horses as well.  She has improved with her
horsemanship skills and is not afraid of the horses but
she's afraid of all other animals! Tia brushes the horses,
cleans their hooves, combs their hair & also saddles &
unsaddles the horses.  Tia has learned so much about
the horses and their needs under Kims supervision.
Her favorite thing is trotting the horse and going on trail
rides & even when her time is up, Kim will see to it that
Tia gets her trailride, weather permitted.  The
occupational games Kim provides have helped Tia with
her hand-eye coordination and with her speech, she has
learned also to speak commands loudly to the horses &
control the horses which is a huge milestone for Tia as
she was very timid.  We appreciate EQDHSD for all
they've done for Tia, including giving financial
assistance when needed, we couldn't ask for more!
She has even participated in the American Royal Rodeo
and showed her horsemanship skills in the Windmill
Arena in a horseshow with EQDHSD and that means the
world to Tia.   Sincerely, Carole Mackins
